This is a one week full time course.
This course is designed for those who wish to install, service and flush unvented hot water storage systems.
Day 1 and 2 Pipe skills - cutting, bending and soldering pipes
Day 3 Unvented cylinder G3 course
HWSS has been developed to ensure operatives are aware of how to comply with Approved Document G (ADG) 2016 when carrying out work on hot water systems. Training includes requirements for the installation of G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems and covers systems up to 500 litres capacity and 45kW power input.
The Hot Water Systems and Safety certificate is recognised by Competent Person Schemes (CPS) approved to offer a self-certification scheme under ADG, enabling installers of hot water systems (including Unvented HWS) to self-certify the installation. A certificate in Hot Water Systems and Safety is also required by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies for those looking to be recognised for the installation of Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems.
Day 4 Water Regulations (WRAS) course
WRAS training covers the Water Regulations (1999) and is a necessary requirement for qualified plumbers (minimum Level 2) looking to join their local water authorities Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme, one of the plumbing competent person schemes (CPS) and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies. The course includes a comprehensive guide and workbook.
Day 5 Legionella Prevention course
The Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment course is designed to help plumbers; operators and managers comply with the guidance published in the HSE document Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L8. The course will help learners comply with their legal duties including identifying and assessing sources of risk, preparing a scheme to prevent or control risk, implementing, managing and monitoring precautions and keeping records of control measures taken.
