Basic Pipe Skills Course

Essex Skills Centre have designed a 2 day basic pipe skills course designed to give you an insight into the plumbing industry.

During the course you will learn the following:

• Plumbing systems and fittings
• Soldering techniques
• Jointing methods, bending and pressure testing copper pipe and plastic pipe.
• Maintaining valves
• Installing pipework
• Compression Joints
• Measuring and working out X dimensions 

This course is entirely hands on and is ideal for anyone looking to learn basic domestic plumbing but additionally can act as a great taster course for anyone who is considering a full Level 2 Plumbing qualification and a career as a Plumber. The course will cover all of the obvious issues that can arise within a domestic property in an attempt to teach you how to deal with certain things but more importantly, will provide guidance on when/if you really do need to call out a Plumber.

This course is available to all; there are no entry requirements  

All of the tools and materials that this course requires will be supplied for you however it is essential that you have protective footwear (steel toe-cap boots) and suitable casual clothing is recommended (no shorts) as this course can get a little bit messy.
